🐢 What Is Throttle By Wire
This my friend is very pricey. To give you a common example, the '99 -'01 volvo's with the first generation throttle by wire system, have an almost 100% failure rate before they reach 100K miles. Usually 75k miles, this dealer only repair is about $1200, $800 for the throttle body and $400 labor and software update.
In most cars, a mechanical cable connects the accelerator pedal to the throttle valve. The TSX uses the all-electronic Drive-by-Wire Throttle System,™ first developed for Honda Formula 1 racing engines. It senses accelerator pedal motion, then a computer weighs this data against vehicle speed and engine data in real time and opens the
Instead of using cables or hydraulic pressure to control a vehicle, drive-by-wire technology uses electronic systems to activate brakes, control steering, and fuel the engine. There are three main driving components that drive-by-wire systems typically replace with electronic controls: throttle, brakes, and steering.
The FBWB mode is similar to FLY BY WIRE A (FBWA), but Plane will try to hold altitude as well. Roll control is the same as FBWA, and altitude is controlled using the elevator. The target airspeed is controlled using the throttle. To control your altitude in FBWB mode you use the elevator stick to ask for a change in altitude.
The drive by wire in the Mustang exhibits about 1/8" of dead play, where I can tap dance on the throttle without ever having any throttle input. This is because of the way the sensor contacts were designed/manufactured. Then there's the throttle hang after you let off the throttle.

I don't have it and I don't like the sound of it. Hearing stories with folks having problems changing handle bars and functional glitches in general.
What year did Harley start using throttle by wire? In 2008 Harley-Davidson introduced a new throttle system called Electronic Throttle Control (ETC), which eliminates the throttle cables connecting the throttle and the throttle body and replaces them with an electronic connection. ETC is standard on all 2008 and 2009 touring models, including
Unlike automotive throttle-by-wire systems which may "suggest" drivability, Ski-Doo's ITC actually imposes limitations by modifying engine performance in favor of fuel economy. To compound the effects of the various modes, the ACE 900 also adds a "learning key," which further adds to the driving mode capabilities. A concept long

Throttle-by-wire, or accelerate-by-wire, was the first type of drive-by-wire system introduced. These systems use a pedal unit and an engine management system. The pedal uses sensors that measure how much or how little the driver moves the accelerator, and the sensors send that information to the engine management system.
The drive-by-wire throttle technology works in conjunction with several electronic safety systems in the vehicle. For instance, safety features like blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, electronic stability control , and lane assistance are made possible through the use of this technology.
